Holiday Cure All {Band-Aids & Chocolate} Review

This may seem like a weird combination, must trust me it is the ultimate holiday cure all. Whether you burn your fingers while reaching for that fried turkey leg or a splinter catches your finger while cutting down your Christmas tree, you are sure to be in need of a healing agent.

Band-Aids are one of those companies that have been around for ages, and everyone is familiar with them. I remember growing up as a kid and always having to have a band-aid for real and pretend booboos.

For inclusion in the Holiday Gift Guide we were sent 6 new packs of Band-Aids. We were sent the new Muppets, Cynthia Rowley, and the Tough Strips. During the holiday season and the hustle and bustle of events, Band-Aids are sure to come in handy, and they may really good stocking stuffers.

Once we received the band-aids, my younger sister immediately had to have one of the Cynthia Rowley band-aids placed on her cut and she chose the ones with sparkles! I love how they are stylish, and fun, but still manage to stick and stay stuck until you are ready to remove them. With the fun colors and sizes it is sure to make your young ones want to keep them on for as long as possible while promoting a healthy treatment of the booboo.

Bandages are one of the number one things to keep inside of your first aid kit, and their website provides you with tips and tricks, as well as what you need to have inside of your first aid kit at all times.

Another neat thing that Band-Aid sent us was their Friction Block Stick that is perfect for blisters. After all the shopping and walking that will be done this season, this is just what the doctor ordered for our tired, blistery, and achy feet. Just simply rub this onto your feet before heading out the door and then enjoy the prevention of blisters. This retails for $4.99 at different retailers.

Another must have for this holiday season or for your first aid kit, is Neosporin.

We received the Neosporin Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy, and the Daily Hydration Therapy. These are two very important products to have this holiday season to prevent your lips from chafing and cracking from the winter chill. Being one that suffers from dry lips constantly throughout the year, I have already started to use the overnight therapy. I just simply rub some on my lips before bed and then wake up with renewed non-dried lips. You can purchase these for about $4.99 each.

Now for what you have all been waiting for…CHOCOLATE!

Once you have your booboos all doctored and protected, chocolate is the next thing in the healing process. It is sure to make you forget all about the ouchie that you got.

We were sent Dagoba Drinking Chocolate in Chai, Dagoba Chocolate Bars in Xocolatl and Dark, Scharffen Berger Chocolate in Milk Almond and Milk Chocolate.

Being from a small city, it always amazes me to receive other types of high end chocolate like the ones above, they are so much different than our regular Snickers bar. We have tasted all of the chocolate bars and each of us have our own favorites.

The Dagoba Chai Drinking Chocolate is gluten free and consists of a uniquely spicy, flavorful blend of cacao powder, dark chocolate, cane sugar, ginger and chai. We have yet to try this, because we are saving it for that cold night. I love the look, feel and texture of it and I just know that it will be a wonderful experience to try.

The two Dagoba chocolate bars are completely different in taste and smell. The Xocolatl is very unique in the fact that it contains cacao nibs, chilies and rich dark chocolate. My dad forgot to read the label before he tried it and it was so funny to see his facial reaction. He said that it was nasty, and that chocolate and chili pepper just doesn’t go good together. That’ll teach him to leave my chocolate alone from now on. Hehe. Seeing how I did not get to try that one simply because it went into the trash before I could stop it, I did get to try the dark chocolate bar. I have never been a fan of dark chocolate, but this was not too shabby.

Dagoba offers many different, unique chocolate bars, and other products. This would be some awesome stocking stuffers to give to the chocaholic in your family.

The Scharffen Berger chocolates were the best in my opinion, they were pretty basic flavors. The milk almond was my favorite simply because I like my chocolate to have something besides chocolate in it. I liked the additional almonds and it was really good. The milk chocolate was okay to me, but my sister gobbled that one up before I could get a second opinion. I liked how their chocolate is airy and it doesn’t feel like it is so loaded with stuff that is not good for you. It is made up of 41% cacao and some are even salted with sea salt.
