Balboa Baby sent me the following Brown Berry Adjustable Sling to review.
Ease of Use
While researching different slings, I have noticed how a lot of them seem to be extremely difficult to use, even if you do follow the instructions. They have a tie here and a tie there, and a tie every where. I must admit that I looked over the instructions for this sling before deciding on it, and the instructions look something like this.
Just simply thread it and then fit it, and you are all set, without getting tied up!
Here is where I have a little difficulty with the sling. I fitted it like it says to do so below.
And then chose the hip carrying style.
But, I had trouble getting a good enough fit, it seemed like the opening was to big and that she would fall through, but when I tightened it up, it really started to hurt my neck.
Natalie is 11 months old and weighs somewhere over 22 lbs, she did not seem to care for the way she was sitting because she kept trying to climb up my side. I did try out the front carrier style, and she seemed to like a whole lot better, but I did not. It felt unsecure to me and it was really hard to carry.
After speaking with Balboa, I have come to learn that I had the sling on wrong, and did not have a good fit, but after following their instructions and more pictures, I finally was able to accomplish it
Here is what they said.
The rings should be on your shoulder and adjustable strap in front of you. Also the sling should be adjusted pretty snug before you put your baby in. I attached a photo of our little model Domenic who is also in hip carrier position, I really hope this helps.
Washing and Drying
The sling is machine washable and you can either hang to dry or tumble dry. I chose to tumble dry mine. After washing once, the sling still looks brand new, but smells like baby.
Appearance, Quality, and Style
The appearance, quality, and style of this sling is like no other. It has nice thick, but breathable fabric, a cute print, and baby wearing is becoming more and more in style. Not only does Balboa Baby offer adjustable slings, but they also offer some of the items below!
The Balboa Sling has a retail value of $60.
Even though I had trouble getting a perfect fit, I still give this sling and company a 5 out of 5 hearts. I love the company and the sling, but I just feel that it would work better for smaller babies, and then maybe invest in a carrier once they start the crawling stage.
