Florence Adams is a family owned business lovingly named after our grandmother, that sells a variety of products ranging from retro aprons and kitchen appliances online to woman’s and children’s clothing, Vera Bradley and accessories in our store front.
Florence Adams sent me the following Lavender Hand Soap and Basil Laundry Soap.
Here lately I have been hearing more and more about the wonderful Mrs. Meyer’s soaps and cleaning products on various sites. Being from a small city, that only has a Wal-Mart, there is no place to find the products, and that is where I turned to the web. I came upon Florence Adams during the search and was so excited to see that they offered not only the Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap, but also other products in her Clean Day line, such as the Laundry Soap. I was thrilled when they offered to send me the samples to review with you all.
The Laundry Detergent
Please disregard the ugly laundry room. The laundry detergent that I was sent came in Basil and allows for up to 64 loads! As you can see it is not an extremely huge and cumbersome bottle like many of the leading brands. It is able to fit on our laundry shelf without taking up all the room. When I saw the bottle, I thought no way that this could withstand 64 loads and keep up with our many dirty clothes. After reading the back of the bottle for instructions it states that you should only use 1/2 of the top for medium loads and 3/4 of the detergent for large and heavily soiled loads.
Seeing that the majority of our clothes are heavily soiled and incorporated into large loads, I used 3/4 of a cup. The biggest thing besides the smell that threw me for a loop, was the fact that the cup is small. Unlike most of the other laundry cups, this one is actually the perfect amount. Usually the other brands have bigger cups, so that you will use more detergent and have to buy more, but not with the Mrs. Meyer’s that is sold ay Florence Adams.
That 3/4 cup of detergent looks like this in the washer. I am one of those people who love to see suds in the washer before adding clothes, I guess that just assures me that my clothes are actually getting cleaned! Seeing how I have not mentioned it yet, the basil scent that I was provided with, was amazing. It smelled really good once I opened the container and after I washed and dried my clothes, they still came out smelling like basil, just not as strong. It is a good relaxing smell. I can immediately pull my clothes out my drawer and say, “yep, that was washed with the basil!”. Never in my 21 years of life have I had a detergent to do that. Also another bonus is that when I walk outside around my house it smells like basil! Not only does my clothes smell good, but also the outside around the house smells good. We will be the best smelling house on the block!!
The Hand Soap
If you can remember a while back I posted about the fact that I have really bad eczema, and a lot of soap tends to irritate it more or makes it where it won’t heal properly. With Mrs. Meyer’s lavender soap, not only does it smell heavenly, but it also makes my hands feel softer. I love that it feels like a good quality soap and not like a lot of the off brands that feel runny. This actually feels like soap and suds like it is suppose to.
I loved the cool, soothing smell of lavender and was really sad when the soap was all gone. I was the only one who was in love with the smell, but hey that means more soap for me!
